Santa Fe Digital Darkroom Photo Workshops has collaborated with Corbett Bishop Safaris to bring you Digital Safari Workshops in Tanzania. Corbett Bishop Safaris has an unequaled wealth of knowledge of the East African region, its wildlife, peoples and terrain. Corbett, and his wife and partner, Camilla Pelizzoli-Bishop, have over 40 years of combined experience in East Africa. This experience includes many unique and exploratory expeditions that have yielded a wealth of imaging options for our clientele.
Their relationships with the Tanzania National Parks administration, as well as local and tribal authorities, have opened to us, and our clients, opportunities that no other company can offer. We compliment these opportunities with superlative guiding and service; and, we are actively engaged in conservation and sustainable development in both Kenya and Tanzania. Therefore a safari with us is much more than just a chance to see the great game, people and places of the region; it is a journey into a dynamic world of exciting thought and positive efforts.
No two of our safaris have ever been alike: Each party brings with it specific goals, needs and interests which we have been able to cater to and fulfill. Our enthusiasm is reflected in our detailed attention to each group and the development of their safari. Because of this enthusiasm, we deliver safaris that more than meet the expectations of our guests.
East Africa traditionally has two rainy season and thus two safari seasons. There are no 'best" seasons for a safari in East Africa, but there are some important differences.
The long rains in East Africa generally begin from early April and go until the end of May, while the short rains are traditionally in November and into December.
Either done in open cars or cars with roof-hatches (so you can stand up and have a 360 degree view), game driving is the usual way of viewing wildlife in East Africa. It is always comfortable, with cold drinks and snacks brought along, and it gives the best opportunities for photography. Vehicles allow you more range than walking and can be just as fun for exploring.
